Leamington Carnival was organised by a team of around 20 members back in the 1900's. Sadly due to the lack of support over the years in 1996 the last procession was held in the town, the event still took place for a further 2 years in a fete format only.
In 2014 a Committee of 6 was created to re-create the towns carnival. On July 12th 2014 the procession took on the streets of Leamington and was a huge success. Thousands lined the streets to watch the procession and to enjoy the summer festival in the Pump Room Gardens. Unfortunately the 2015 Carnival was unable to go ahead as only 2 Committee Members remained following several call outs in late 2014.
However in mid 2015 a call out was made for support for the 2016 Carnival. A good response was received and 2016 was a great sucess, here's to 2017!
DON'T FORGET – Carnival Day is about much more than simply having fun! It’s main purpose is to raise funds for
local charitable organisations through the street collection made during the Parade. - BRING YOUR PENNIES
